The village of Ratby is situated about 5 miles North West of Leicester.

Picture  Description

The Railway Inn at Ratby stood alongside the Leicester to Swannington Railway Line. Before the station opened, a room in the pub served as the ticket office.

Ratby Church is dedicated to St Philip and St James. The oldest part of the church is the tower, dating back nearly 800 years. Sadly, the church is closed due to safety fears, as the roof is suffering badly from dry rot. You can find out more about this church HERE (external site)

This door is located in the oldest part of the church... the base of the tower. It is about 4 feet tall (the door, not the tower)

More pictures of Ratby will be added soon!
