Many people today imagine the Leicestershire suburb of Glenfield to a peaceful place. Excellent for commerce to Leicester, London and Loughborough. Really, a bit boring compared to Bosworth or even Kirby Muxloe with its castle. But, what was there a few thousand years ago may make you rethink.
When building a new housing estate, near Somerset Drive, in 1982, a few small pieces of Bronze Age Pottery was found. Earlier that decade, a bronze age axe was also found on that site. Field walking then commenced revealing some metal working.
